Landscaping for pink house?
My house was purchase with a light pink vinyl siding on it. It has a white trim. The shudders were a horrible green. We have since painted them black. We are in the process of planning landscaping. What colors should we use. I have figured that red is not an option(we tried red Christmas ribbons on the windows and it looked horrible. What colors of flowers look good with a light pink house?

Personally, I would have gone with a more neutral color on the shutters, such as a off white to match the trim or something in a cream or grey, then you could use any color, a bright red would not look good, however, a wine or burgundy should and with any tan or brown or light pink or soft yellow etc., should be ok. Good luck.

Little pink houses. Sweet! I think it would be wise to stick with mostly greenery. Things that don’t even bloom. There are many ornamental plants that are a nice variety of green shades. Then add in a few flowers that do bloom – whites with a splash of purple would do nicely.
Sherwin Williams has a fantastic website which you can use to see how colors will look.
There is also color scheme designer which is for the most part a color wheel in which you can see how shades of color work with each other.

well if you like the pink and are planning to keep it that color then I would use white, pink, purple colors like pastel colors…..maybe hostas for the green…. ya red would definitely not look good.

You might try deep purple flowers, or multicolored flowers like pansies. I would strongly suggest that you stick with greenery, though. A good substitute would be hostas. You can get all different sizes, textures, shades of green or white, and even striped leaves. There are small lavendar flowers that come up briefly, but they are not the main color interest. Also, hostas are easy to grow, and they do well in shade.
