My landlord installed an outdoor motion detector light a few days ago and the flood lights on it aren’t working. I know that the light switch that operates it works because the other light that is on that particular switch works and I know that the light unit works because when I walk by it, a red light starts blinking. I thought that it was just because it has a solar cell, however, I was coming in from work at 11:00 PM last night, when it is completely dark outside, and it still wasn’t working. What could be wrong with this thing? I’ve already called my landlord to notify him of this problem, however, he is very difficult to get in contact with. Thanks!
There are three controls on the light: a sensitivity control, which is turned to maximum, a timer control, and some little whitish-greyish button.

My neighbor diagonally behind our house, often choses to mow his yard starting a 9 pm on week nights. With the aid of flood lights on his house he is able to see well enough to mow.

How do you handle some one like this ? He is buddies with most of the neighbors and we fear complaining would just make us the "enemy" with him and the other neighbors.

Is there a camera that has automatic sensors so the IR will shut off when the flood lights come on?
Most bundle packages include 4 IR cameras but I have automatic flood lights. The non IR camera sets aren’t outdoor cameras…

Ok, Im a scrub when it comes to camera’s, but my camcorder looks pretty bad inside…i mean I would need Flood Lights inside for it to look decent. But without tons of lights, the color is off, there’s picture noise, and there’s tons of ghosting.

How can I fix this?

Ok….I’ve had ALOT of weird stuff going on around my house. First a young man has been taking pictures of the back of my house & yelling at my dogs. Then today some skinhead looking creeps drove down the alley trying to coax my German Shepherd. I have flood lights gallore around my home, but before I got my dogs I was robbed 3 times. I always heard it’s good to keep a light on, but many people told me it just makes it easier for the crook to view your home & stuff around it. I currently have dusk/dawn floods in the back, I’m thinking of swapping it out for motion sensors?

Would motion sensor lights be more apt to scare someone off? Or would it really not make much of a difference you think? I just installed new lights not too long ago (dusk/dawn type) but right after putting them in I had alot of stuff taken out of backyard. I know nothing is fool proof but I was wondering if one is better then the other. Thanks!
lol ray…..no my dogs don’t bark unless there’s something to bark at. The first guy I think is a stalker (he has come into my yard with my collie b4 I got the GSD, he yelled at the GSD because he wouldn’t let him in the yard) but I think the boy has mental issues as well. The skinhead creeps were driving very slowly past my house, and at one point one leaned out the window trying to coax my GSD to the fence.

The stuff I’ve had stolen has been outside (bikes, solar lights, etc) or stuff on my vehicles (wires, batteries, etc) even tho I keep everything locked up tight. I have those cheap driveway alarms that I use to let me know if anyone gets near or inside my home….it’s the outside thats the problem.

I am living in a multi family house and have recently discovered that all the communal lights (flood lights/porch lights/hall lights/basement lights, etc)are hooked up to the tenants electric boxes. Is this legal for a landlord to do? Thank you for reading!

2 switches control these 4 reassessed lights. When turned "ON", after a few minutes later, all 4 lights go "ON" and "OFF" randomly. All 4 lights never stay "ON" after the first few minutes, even if I turn them "OFF" and immediately turned back "ON". All are 65 W sylvania flood lights

I have a forced hot air oil fired furnace and I am thinking about running the blower ductwork past the heat of a pellet stove, or flood lights as an electric option or a 220VAC electric heating element.
