This is my second posting for this and I appreciate all of the previous answers. I have a 1992 Ford Ranger. It has no power, studders taking off, and is getting very bad gas mileage. I have replaced the air filter, spark plugs, wires, the ignition coils, muffler, fuel filter, mass air flow meter, and the catalytic converter. The wires are not crossed… It has decent compression. The check engine light was on. After a personal diagnostic test it claimed cylinder one has a problem and the mass airflow sensor had low voltage. After replacing the MAS the check engine light went off. I also think it improved the gas mileage but not the power. The truck is not fuel injected.

I need someone with experience to let me know what are some more possibilities on what is causing this.

Thanks

auto is stalling out and coming back, if your going 60 it might suddenly drop rpm like u turn the key off then catch back up again. the p0102 code comes on when this happens and the traction off light comes on. Its getting worse and will not idle good now. The p102 code is low voltage to maf. I have 5 volts on the yellow wire and 12 volts on the pink wire.
when I unplug the maf sensor at idle it dosn’t effect the car at all. I have changed the maf sensor twice, also the plugs and plug wires, the tps sensor, coil pack ,o2 sensor. This seemed to make problem worse.
checked fuel pressure 50 lbs correct. Have cleaned the engine with carb cleaner trying to find a vacumm leak none. What would cause a low voltage to the maf sensor where does the yellow wire go that plugs to maf sensor? this is wife car and there ain’t no loving till its fixed. thanks for any help larry

My elderly neighber (80 yrs plus) is having trouble with her Cadillac. Shes’ on a fixed income, so I need to help her out. I’m pretty good with a wrench, but sure could use some help on this one! The dealer wants 0.00 for plugs and wires, installed. Napa 0.00 for parts. The car has 93457 miles on it, and rats have chewed the wires. That P0717–Does that mean the trani is shot? Auto Zone said it’s getting low voltage. Can I fix this? The service engine light is on, and on the dash it says "service the transmission". I changed the filter and trani fluid six months ago. The fluid is clean, no discoloration, and no burnt odor. It appears as new as when I put it in, and it is on the full mark. Any help or links will be welcome. Thank You, Rowdy

Wireless Electricity
Dear sir/ madam
I’m an Iranian, I have some invents these invents could change the life
Of human in the world, one of my very important inventions is about transfer high/low voltage
Electricity without cable” wireless electricity” to short / long distances.
You can have electricity everywhere you are, even in the space, it is not a joke or specter, it is true and real.
Since human reach the electricity and knowledge of control it “electronics” it was a desire of the
Scientists to transfer electricity without metal cables as they can send waves and light from a point
To other points, your desire came true. Let’s share our I’m ready to sale my invents to any government, organization, university, person. It could register in my name or any other names that will pay.

                                                            Seiavash

The box is FPE with one single pull out. My Payne PA13 outside a/c unit stopped working (and the air still blows albeit not cool air) and I am curious how this type of breaker box works. Are there fuses behind the panel? Or does the piece I pull act like a fuse?. I have already checked all of my circuits on my main circuit breaker. My a/c worked fine the other day, but since I last used the a/c, I had to turn off my main electricity to install a light, and the outside a/c unit is not coming back on… can this be a coincedence? I really doubt it.
thanks for the answers…the breakers seem fine. I do have a question about the reset button. Being ever so cautious about high voltage electricity, I wasn’t sure if I should turn off the power to the a/c unit before I took the panel off of the outside unit to hit the reset button.

Do I need to have power on or off when I press the reset switch?
—-
I just checked I cannot seem to find a reset switch on the a/c….However the when pressing the main relay, the compressor does start….

also the indoor blower does run.. as for a meter what is a decent meter to get to check the voltage.. it seems as though the compressor is lacking power.
all of these answers got me on the right path and I checked everything. The low voltage part got me on a path and I followed the line from the thermostat. well for some reason the low voltage line got disconnected and all i needed to do was reconnect.. simple fix, but I would know how to dive in a follow the line if it wasn’t for every answer given.. great site and invaluable help…..thanks all

I have a solar powered water pump that is connected to a battery allowing it to run during cloud cover or at night. I don’t want it to run after dark and need a switch that I can put inline with the pump that will stop this.

I have two options that I can think of, the first being an actual light-sensitive switch or relay that cuts power to the pump from the battery system when it is dark.

The other option is that the battery/control housing has a light sensor that turns on some low-voltage LEDs after dark. I figure it is possible to use that voltage to turn off some sort of switch or relay inline with the pump. In other words, it gets dark, the voltage from the LED output turns on, and then that voltage, rather than driving LEDs, turns off my pump switch.
