hello i just started a indoor garden and the plants are about 2 weeks old. i been leaving the light on for 16 hours . today my timer broke!!! so my plants got 24 hours of light instead of 16. this has never happend to me befor . please help what shoul i do
I would like to have a timer on my outdoor lights, the switch is indoors, part of a 4 switch switplate
Just moved into a new house and there’s this light switch that controls the front outdoor light by the door. It looks very new but I can’t find it anywhere online or a brand name to run a search. Here’s my question:
Its a very simple looking design with just a spinning wheel that has the 24 hours listed like a clock. If you push the ‘wheel’ the lights goes on, push it again they turn off. Does anyone have any idea of how to set the timer on it so the lights go off and on automatically? I’ve tried spinning it to 4pm pressing the button and then turning it to 6am and pressing it again… I have no idea how to set this thing. Also, the wheel is stationery at all times – so it doesnt automatically spin around like one of those light timers you plug into a lamp…

I wanted to try starting my tomato season early this year by growing under indoor light. I found a light with a blue tinted bulb that reads Plant Grow N Sho on it. It looks like a regular 150W flood light but must be for plants. In other words, it is not florescent. I have it hanging over my plants about 18 inches because it seems a little hot to put lower. I have it on a timer for 18 hours on and 6 hours off in darkness. Does this sound sufficient? I don’t have room for long tube lights plus the light I found reads and looks as if it were for this purpose. Any tips would help.

I am starting an indoor tomato garden, and I just bought a 600w High Pressure Sodium Light with a 120v 600w ballast.
I need to hook up the ballast to a timer so I can automate the lighting, but I was told that ballasts will melt standard timers.
Is this true? Do I need to get a special timer for it? Any information will be helpful.

The light-bulb burnt out. I replaced it and now it is stuck in manual mode. I have tried turning it off and on rapidly, and leaving it off for a long time and turning it on again.
It is an older light that does not have any timer or sensitivity switches.

If you have a manual that says some reset sequences, I would appreciate you posting reset – on/off sequences.
I don’t think the ‘eye’ would be malfunctioning. The light burnt out and that shouldn’t have affected the photocell or sensor. Please let me know if you can help!
I want to learn how to wire things to other things.
I want to be able to wire a timer, and when it goes off, it turns on the LED light. How do I do that? I’ve Googled, searched for questions here, but no results. I’m looking for a best answer 
I came home from vacation and both of my 2 sets of lights (1 along the house, 1 along the garage) are not lighting. Every light on the cable is out. The timer is still running, but nothing lights when I throw the switch on the transformer. Should I try to trim the wires, the contacts look a bit dirty/rusty or do I need new transformer boxes?
I lost the directions and it has only an on/off switch and then a series of settings:On, 2 hours, 4 hours, 6 hours, 8 hours, dusk/dawn, off. It’s dark out now and I want to set it to run for 8 hours.
I tried putting it on for the 8 hours and it didn’t turn on the lights. Then I tried it on the dusk/dawn setting and it didn’t turn on. Then I just set it to ON and it worked. But what’s the friggin point of having a timer then if I still have to go outside to turn it off? It’s the same thing as if I just plugged it into the outlet.
Please please all you smart people, help me!
I moved into a new houes and the out door lights don’t work i believe that the swich with a timer is for the outdoor lights but it was disconnected i would like to try it and see if it works. there is an empty spot on my light swich and the hole where made at the same place so please help me with the colours.
